"Headlines feel suspiciously on point"
The headlines are accurate most of the time. Almost makes you wonder who’s feeding them the info, because they seem to get the main idea right way more often than I expected.

"Billing was clear enough for me"
I signed up for sltrib.com and, for me, the billing info was easy to get. The price was shown, and the renewal date too, so no weird surprise has happened so far. One star I’m taking off because finding the cancel options could be a little easier.

"I tried it out with my sister, and..."
I tried it out with my sister, and we both felt like the stories were kind of rushed. Some details were just off, which made it hard to fully enjoy or trust what we were reading.

"Newsletter wasn’t worth the hassle"
The newsletter didn’t really give me anything useful. Most of it felt like junk I didn’t need, and on top of that I kept getting asked to verify myself again and again, which got annoying fast

"Good local coverage, but the paywall comes fast"
I do like the local stories and usually find something worth reading, but the paywall seems to show up quickly and while I totally understand they have to make money and keep the reporting going, I just wish there were a few more free articles each month before you get cut off.

"Recent stuff feels too biased for me"
I used to enjoy it a bit more, but the last few things I watched/read felt really political and kind of one-sided. Maybe it wasn’t always like that, but based on my recent experience, it’s just too biased for my taste now

"I just wanted to cancel, but it ended..."
I just wanted to cancel, but it ended up being way more of a hassle than it needed to be. I had to jump through so many hoops, which was ridiculous.

"Good variety, but I wish some stories went deeper??"
I check sltrib.com when I want a quick sense of what’s happening around Utah. They cover a nice mix of local news, politics, sports, and other state stuff, which is convenient. But sometimes I’ll read an article and think, wait, that’s it?? A few topics feel a little light, so I end up searching somewhere else for more background. Overall, it’s a solid site, just not always as in-depth as I’d like

"Comment moderation feels frustrating"
I left what I thought was a totally normal comment, and it just never showed up. Meanwhile, worse comments are still sitting there, which makes the whole thing feel kind of random and maybe a little biased. If discussion is handled like that, paying for it doesn't really feel worth it to me.

"It feels a bit too pricey for..."
It feels a bit too pricey for the amount I actually end up reading. Like, it’s not bad, but for the cost? Meh, not really worth it for me.

"Decent navigation, but honestly a little cluttered"
The site works fine overall, but trying to find older articles takes more clicks than it should. The menus can feel a bit crowded at times, so it’s not always as smooth to browse as I’d like.

"Decent writing, but it feels inconsistent"
I still check sltrib.com regularly, and some of the articles are genuinely clear and easy to get through. But then others feel rushed, dry, or like they were just pushed out to hit a deadline. It’s a little frustrating because the quality feels like moving goalposts — one day you get a solid, well-written piece, and the next it’s kind of flat. I just wish the writing was more consistent overall.

"Couldn’t get anyone to respond"
I’ve tried reaching out to sltrib.com support a few different times about my account, and I still haven’t gotten a real answer. I was already feeling annoyed when I contacted them, and sitting around with no update just made it worse. For something I’m paying for, I’d really expect quicker communication. Overall, not a great experience.

"Updates can be a bit frustrating"
I like using it, but the update schedule is kind of all over the place. Some stories get updated quickly, which is great, but others take way longer than expected. It’s not the end of the world, but it does get a little annoying when you’re waiting and nothing shows up

"Not sure I can trust it anymore"
I used to feel okay relying on this, but now I’m not sure I can trust their sources anymore. It’s frustrating because I wasn’t expecting something so simple to turn into extra stress, and now I feel like I have to double-check everything myself.

"To be fair, I do want to..."
To be fair, I do want to support local news and I understand websites need ads to keep things running. But trying to read sltrib.com on my phone has been frustrating lately.
The pages load slowly, and then they keep shifting around while I’m trying to read. Ads and pop-ups get in the way, and I end up tapping the wrong thing because the page moves right as I’m about to scroll or click.
I don’t mind paying for good journalism, but the mobile experience really needs some work. Most of the time I open an article, get annoyed, and just close it instead of finishing it.

"I wish they were more transparent"
It was kind of frustrating trying to figure out who was actually making the decisions. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect a bit more clarity upfront, especially when you’re putting your time or money into something

"Their investigations feel way weaker than they should"
I don’t know, I really expected stronger local watchdog reporting from them, but lately the investigative stuff has felt kind of flimsy. They’ll make these huge claims and I’m sitting there like, okay, where are the documents, where’s the follow-up, where’s literally anything to back this up? Sometimes it reads more like an opinion rant than actual reporting, which is a little wild. After a few misses, I’ve gone from trusting them to basically side-eyeing every big story like it’s a courtroom drama with half the evidence missing

"Opinion pieces can be hit or miss"
There are still some good takes here and there, but lately a lot of the opinion pieces feel a bit rushed. I don’t know, it just felt...

"Good for keeping up with Utah news, actually"
I mostly use Salt Lake Tribune to keep up with Utah and Salt Lake City news, and it actually does a good job covering local stories I don’t always see elsewhere. Some pieces are helpful and informative, though a few feel a little too opinion-heavy for my taste. The popups can get annoying too. Still, it’s a decent site if you want regular local updates.
